What You Can't See Can Hurt You! In
today's air tight homes, indoor air quality
is a growing concern. Most household dust
contains dust mites, mold, mildew, pollen
and animal dander. Many of these
contaminants are circulated through the
central air systems in modern homes and can
aggravate asthma and allergies. These
before and after photos to the show you how
much dust can accumulate in your heating and
cooling ducts.
At Peterman Heating And Cooling,
we use a dual unit push-pull system, unlike
some of our competitors who use a smaller
single unit which has a brush and vacuum on
a single hose. The dual unit system
has many advantages including superior
suction and filtering (the pull part) with a
three stage HEPA filter to ensure that all
the contaminants in the ducts are removed
and in less time. The push part is a
separate unit that has a specially designed
brush to progressively clean the ducts as it
moves further and further into the ductwork
cleaning the walls while pushing the
contaminants towards the vacuum with the
HEPA filter.
The all-in-one units our competitors use
have to be smaller so they can carry and
move the unit into smaller spaces.
Because of this, these units can only
deliver a small percentage of the suction
our vacuum unit produces. As filters
get clogged with the debris that is removed
from the ducts, the suction power will
decrease which will require the filter to be
changed frequently or the unit will not be
able to remove everything in the ducts.
With our more powerful stand-alone suction
unit that we use, the filter is much bigger
allowing more air to flow through the
filter while trapping a much larger amount
of contaminants before the suction power is
reduced.
