Electric Furnace Tune-Up
When we come out to tune-up your electric furnace we want you to know EXACTLY what our NATE certified technicians are doing. Below is a list of items that our trained technicians will look for and inspect to make sure your unit is functioning efficiently and safely.
- Calibrate Thermostat – Improper calibration can lead to a system providing the wrong amount of heating or cooling desired. This, in turn, can lead to higher utility bills and inadequate home comfort.
- Check Fan and Temperature Range – A technician will observe the temperature rise throughout the system and make sure the fan starts/stops on command. This ensures that the system is heating the home as the homeowner desires.
- Check Blower Components – Making sure the blower is clear of dirt and debris helps the unit run as efficiently as possible. A clean blower wheel as allows the proper amount of airflow.
- Lubricate Blower & Motor – Proper lubrication of moving parts reduces friction and makes the unit itself run quieter. It will also extend the life of the blower by allowing it to run cooler.
- Check Heat Anticipator – This element is located in the thermostat and when functioning correctly ensures that the furnace will provide heat when necessary.
- Inspect Heating Elements – A technician will make sure all heating elements are sequencing on and off properly.
- Check Electrical Connections – Loose connections can cause components to malfunction and possibly fail due to improper voltage. Also, connections that are not secure could cause a sparking within the unit and jeopardize overall safety.
- Inspect Furnace Filter – A dirty air filter can reduce the overall system efficiency and can make the unit work harder given the reduced air flow coming into the system.
- Wash Furnace Exterior – A technician will wash and clean the exterior of the unit to remove dirt and buildup. Keeps the unit looking good and extends the life.
