EPA Ozone Laws
As of January 1, 2010, the EPA enacted the Clean Air Act stating that no more R-22 bearing equipment was to be manufactured. They have decided to mandate that all newly manufactured units use Puron, a more environmentally friendly refrigerant. However, this act does not outlaw servicing R-22 units. At Peterman, we are fully capable of servicing your traditional R-22 unit, but we will not be able to replace your existing unit with a new R-22 unit.
