When we come out to tune-up your gas furnace we want you to know EXACTLY what our NATE certified technicians are doing. Below is a list of items that our trained technicians will look for and inspect to make sure your unit is functioning efficiently and safely.

• Calibrate Thermostat – Improper calibration can lead to a system providing the wrong amount of heating or cooling desired. This, in turn, can lead to higher utility bills and inadequate home comfort.
  
  
• Remove and Clean Burners – Cleaning the burners allows for more efficient burning.
  
  
• Check Electrical Connections – Loose connections can cause components to malfunction and possibly fail due to improper voltage. Also, connections that are not secure could cause a sparking within the unit and jeopardize overall safety.
  
  
• Check Blower Components – Making sure the blower is clear of dirt and debris helps the unit run as efficiently as possible. A clean blower wheel as allows the proper amount of airflow.
  
  
• Lubricate Blower & Motor – Proper lubrication of moving parts reduces friction and makes the unit itself run quieter. It will also extend the life of the blower by allowing it to run cooler.
  
  
• Check Pilot Light and Burners – Smooth ignition is very important to system health. The pilot light and burners will be observed for proper burning and flame color.
  
  
• Check Heat Exchanger – To avoid carbon monoxide in the home the heat exchanger is checked for cracks and cleaned to ensure proper functionality.
  
  
• Check High Limit Control – A faulty high limit control could result in the unit itself overheating and possible damage to the home.
  
  
• Check Fan and Temperature Range – A technician will observe the temperature rise throughout the system and make sure the fan starts/stops on command. This ensures that the system is heating the home as the homeowner desires.
